Me, circa 1984

Here I am, with my dog P.D. (it stood for "Placid Dog"). He looks so smart and noble, which he was. Except for the time he stole the grill off someone's hibachi, which was smart but not noble. (The owner who let him wander through the neighborhood unattended? Neither smart nor noble.)

My dad found an old Argus reflex camera in the house recently and noticed that it had a half-used roll of film. And lo and behold, several shots from a trip he and my mom took to visit S and I in Walla Walla. I'm thinking it's fall of 1984, because we took the clothesline down sometime. But it could be fall of 1985.

Anyway, I'm stunning. I'm also wearing all S's clothes, except for maybe the pants. Which is a little weird. The glasses, however, were all mine--purchased as a backup pair in 1980 when I was wearing contacts consistently, and never intended for regular public wear. It's a wonder they didn't devour my face entirely. My only comfort is that there's a photo of Bill Gates wearing a masculine version of these.

Oh. My. God. Love those glasses. And I'm happy to get to see a photo of P.D. He was a beauty. Or a Q.T.

Thanks for the trip back in time to Walla Walla. I've been dreaming about that time and place a LOT lately for some reason. (Harper Joy Theater always figures prominently...) And I had glasses like that too. If I still had a scanner, I would send you a photo!
