Escape to Bald Mountain
Here's the view from near the top of Bald Mountain, in the Adirondacks near Old Forge. It's a short, fairly steep hike over lots of giant boulders. It was a great little hike, though I might recommend going on a weekday--lots and lots of folks. Directly across the road is another trail that looked relatively quiet. It's a bit longer and winds past two ponds, but the view isn't supposed to be as good. We'll definitely check that out next time!
(Oh, and that's a bit of the GF's cool hat at the bottom...she looks quite dashing and ready to conquer the world in it!)
