Sure, I look drunk. But I'm not. That was my first and only beer there in my hand. Plus, I was with my two advisors at the reception following the hooding ceremony. Not exactly conducive to wanton revelry. At least, not two days before the defense.
(PS--Note the fabulous dress, paired with a spiffy linen blazer. I credit this ensemble, which I wore to an interview the previous morning, for my wonderful--if one-year--teaching job for next year.)
