Thank You, and Farewell

Barbara Gittings, pioneering gay rights activist, has died. That black-and-white photo of Gittings marching with a picket sign in 1965 at the White House is indelibly printed in my brain. And every time I lose courage or just don't feel up to the small indignities of life in a homophobic culture, I remember what others have done for me. So, thank you, Barbara.
