--this must stop. Whether you support gay marriage or not, whether you think lgbt folk are misguided or sinful or blessed or just plain lucky. No one should be kept from a partner's hospital bedside because of gender or a piece of paper.
And thank you to Charlene Strong for sharing this very fresh pain with the world, and reminding all of us that yes, this is a serious and current problem.
