Rhetors in Memphis

No, it's not the name of a weird new band. HRH Dr Q and I arrived in Memphis Wednesday afternoon, she from Kuwait and I from The Great White North, and are now ensconced at the Peabody Hotel. (No, we haven't watched the duck march yet.) We've enjoyed some mediocre Mexican food, seen a matinee of The Da Vinci Code (which isn't nearly as awful as the reviews made out, but maybe that's just because I enjoy lines like "I've got to get to a library!"), and worked feverishly on our presentations.

I'm on at 1:30, in the very first panel of the conference. How many people do you think will be in attendence (besides HRH)? The first accurate guess emailed to me will receive a ducky soap from our hotel bathroom.

Okay, I'll take the bait. I'm going to guess 15. The first number that came into my mind was 7, but then I remembered that conference goers are often more motivated in the beginning.

So, what's the final tally? Do tell...

My lucky number is 14. That's my answer. 14.

Excellent guesses, but the correct answer was 19. I'll see if I can't round up some easily mailable consolation prizes...
