Fabulous spell-check errors

I know I've blogged about this before, but some jokes are worth repeating. Arete reminds us of the wonders of spell check, which gives us perfectly spelled, completely inappropriate words in the midst of texts. Or at least it does if one does not pay attention to the suggested "correct" spellings. Some favorites:
1. Baroque. As in, "At the family picnic, we ate baroque ribs."
2. Incontinence. As in, "I'm sorry I missed my conference. I hope it didn't cause you any incontinence."
3. Spandex. As in, "I'm sorry I haven't been doing my work for the online class. I was hospitalized for an urgent spandex removal."

That last did indeed cause some incontinence. Bonus points for anyone who can figure out what procedure the student underwent.

Oh, that last one reminds me of one of my favorites. A few years ago, a student of mine had surgery for some lower-back problems. Her email informed me that she had "slipped her back dick."

Maybe she had just been watching the W.C. Fields movie, The Bank Dick?
